A Bangkok upbringing. An international outlook.
Peeraroj “Tom” Chairatn is Chief Executive Officer of KPL Corporation, the family-owned hospitality group behind Khaosan Palace Hotels Group. Raised in Bangkok Old Town, he has helped grow the business from a single Khao San Road hotel into a broad portfolio of hotels, resorts and property investments.
Early life and education
Peeraroj was born and raised around Khao San Road in Bangkok’s Phra Nakhon district. He attended Bangkok Christian College before moving to Melbourne, Australia, at the age of 14. He continued his studies at Westbourne Grammar School and later graduated from Monash University’s Clayton campus with a bachelor’s degree in Business Systems.
Building experience
While studying in Melbourne, Peeraroj worked in hospitality and with companies including VME System Pty Ltd and Schenker Australia Pty Ltd. These early roles gave him practical experience across service, operations and business while he began developing his own ventures.
Property and hospitality
After university, Peeraroj and his wife began investing in and developing student accommodation in Australia, later associated with Chillax Student under TKC Asset Pty Ltd. He subsequently returned to Bangkok to continue the family business, Khaosan Palace Co., Ltd., founded by his father in 1985.
Leading KPL forward
Over the following two decades, KPL Group expanded throughout Khao San Road and Bangkok Old Town. Peeraroj also founded Chillax Hospitality Limited, which manages assets and property investments in Thailand and overseas. The group has pursued student-accommodation investments across Victoria, Australia; by 2021, its businesses employed nearly 500 people across Thailand and Australia.

ประสบการณ์การทำงาน

ตลอดระยะเวลากว่าสองทศวรรษ KPL Group เติบโตอย่างต่อเนื่องในบริเวณถนนข้าวสารและกรุงเทพฯ เมืองเก่า นอกจากนี้ พีระโรจน์ยังเป็นผู้ก่อตั้ง Chillax Hospitality Limited เพื่อบริหารสินทรัพย์และการลงทุนด้านอสังหาริมทรัพย์ทั้งในประเทศไทยและต่างประเทศ รวมถึงตลาดที่พักนักศึกษาในรัฐวิกตอเรีย ประเทศออสเตรเลีย โดยในปี พ.ศ. 2564 ธุรกิจในเครือมีพนักงานรวมเกือบ 500 คนในประเทศไทยและออสเตรเลีย
